Friday Bullets

So I have a bunch of photos that I thought y'all would like to see. I try to take pictures as often as I can and really wish i had a camera in every room of the house, ha! This pics are our past week or so in a nutshell.
  • Steven and I had to switch the girls bedroom with the playroom because basically the are wild animals and will climb on everything. Plus they don't have a lot of bedroom furniture so it fits nicely. Well Steven went outside to get his tools and found this guy and brought him inside. After showing the girls and thoroughly creeping me out he took him outside and took some photos.

  • This is what the girls look like when they are waiting for ice cream. Since we had such a big lunch and the girls had been snacking all afternoon we decided to skip dinner and just have ice cream. NOT a good idea. They were literally bouncing all over the place. They eventually passed out for the night.

  •   Over the years Steven has developed a rather large sweet tooth. Probably my fault, but none the less it's there. These are his favorites from the Turkish bakery, baklava (Sadie calls it bakaba) and we really have no idea what the other is except for the pistachios.

Ruby loves Milo. She would just stare at him for hours. He is very good with her. He lets her pet him and pull on him and doesn't even flinch. She has even pulled a chunk of fur out and he was still enjoying being with her. I have even caught him napping with her. And yes, she is trying to ride him like a horse and Milo was okay with that!

  • And here are the girls playing dress up. Lilly and Sadie are so sweet when they want to be and this is one of those times the really wanted to play with each other.

Better Late Than Never....Father's Day 2010!

Father's Day for us started on Friday when I took the girls shopping to find presents. I thought that if we bought them closer to the day the girls would have less anxiety about when Daddy could open them. WRONG! I put them in a gift bag and promptly hid it in a cabinet. No more then 60 seconds after waking him up for work did Sadie say, "Hey daddy we got you presents today and they are hidden in the TV cabinet downstairs!" Thanks Sadie-Mae. I quickly try to shhh her and get her to stop talking as Lilly says, "What? That's where they are." Thanks Lilly. And that's not even where they stopped. I remembered that I forgot something at the BX so we all, including Daddy, pile into the car and head out. We are walking around the men's section at the BX and Sadie starts up again. "Daddy this is where we got your present. And (pointing) we went over there and over there and over there. And we got your card from there." She was so bad even Steven started shhing her. Great!

The next day Steven wakes up for work and Sadie grabs his hand, "Daddy come here I want to show you something!" Now they are always saving things from the day to share with Daddy when he gets up so we don't think twice about this. They walk into the living room and Sadie opens up the cabinet under the TV and says, "See it's right here!" Nice, thank you again Sadie. So I finally tell Steven sit down and open it now, before the stat pulling the presents out or telling you exactly what's in there. I don't have any pictures, I know shocker, but we gave him American Dad season 5, Lego Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull for the Wii, some German  chocolate cookies, a white chocolate Toberlerone, a coffee mug that says One Cool Pop (complete with a Popsicle on it) for his tea, and a tee shirt that says Papa Bear. I am still unsure who was happier though, Steven who received the gifts or the girls who watched him open them :) Not to self, don't bring the girls when I want to make something a surprise.

On Sunday, we woke up and Steven went to sleep, ha! One of the many wonderful aspects of working nights, not! The girls and I had a light breakfast and straightened up the downstairs. As soon as Ruby went down for a nap, we made a big ole' breakfast. The girls and I made steak and eggs for Daddy and we had sausage and eggs. The girls were so excited to wake him up to eat and give them their cards. While I cooked, the girls colored and drew pictures in their cards for daddy. I heard Lilly trying to write a messsage so I offered to write it for her. Both wanted me to so Lilly had me write this:

Dear Daddy,
Thank you for opening up your presents.
Love, Lilly

Dear Daddy,
Dear Sadie-Mae,
Thanks for opening your presents too.
Love, Sadie
Steven and I had a good laugh about it.

Funny girls, eh? After our scrumptious breakfast/lunch we went out and got some popcorn, snacks, and of course a stop at the Turkish bakery. Steven has a serious sweet tooth for baklava. And so does Lilly. When we got home we watched Planet 51, which was pretty good. All in all it was a pretty good day.

The girls have a great daddy. They love him so much and everyday ask if he can stay home from work and hangout with them. They are also blessed with two great grandfathers who they miss terribly. They can not wait to go and visit. We have been very blessed. So to Steven, Papop, and Papou, WE LOVE YOU!

6 Months Old!

Ruby at 6 months old.
Well she is 6½ months old now, but Ruby just had her 6 month well baby appointment. She is 17lbs. and 26" long. She is pretty average in size, she's in the 61% for weight and the 48% for height. Her head on the other hand is in the 97%. Yes, thank you Daddy for my enormous head! Just kidding, but she did inherit that from him :) The doctor said that her head size could be why she isn't crawling yet, it is a little too heavy so she needs to get a little stronger. It makes sense because Lilly and Sadie have big heads too, and Lilly didn't crawl until she was 9 months old and Sadie didn't until she was 8 months old. We shall see though, she'll crawl whenever she wants to.

Ruby playing with the baby in the mirror.
Ruby enjoys playing in her jumperoo. The girl LOVES to jump! If her big sisters are dancing around she will jump right along with them. The only part she doesn't like is the fact she can't get all the toys into her mouth. Thankfully she has 2 teeth, but there are many more to come and the poor child chews, gnaws, and drools on everything and everyone. YiaYia sent her some Gerber biter biscuits, which apparently taste a lot better than the ones they sell at the commissary her. She LOVES them. The first one she had she actually bit a piece off, chewed, and swallowed it. Then she cried for another.

Ruby's favorite spot, daddy's lap. And yes, his shirt says Papa Bear!
Yummy biter biscuits!

S
She is growing everyday, but she can still fir into some 0-3 month clothing. She is just now outgrowing her 0-3 month sleepers. And she wears size 2 diapers. She is still taking medicine for her reflux and a strong Benadryl-type medicine for itchy skin. We started using Vaseline on her skin instead of a lotion/cream. It seems to be helping but she is still itchy. We are making some progress though.

All in all she is one HAPPY baby! Even though she has her issues that would make most babies/kids fussy and irritable, she is mostly happy and smiling throughout the day. She loves playing with daddy and her sisters and always has smiles for them. She loves when they sing to her and talk to her. Sadie is always telling us she can't wait until Ruby gets big like her so they can play together. All three explore and learn new and crazy things everyday! It's so much fun just to watch! We are grateful and blessed we have such sweet and happy kids.

What We've Been Up To

Just thought I would give everyone a photo update of what we've been up to. It's been hot here and our A/C is broken so we have been just trying to stay cool! Hopefully they'll be able to fix it before Saturday!

Me and the big girls! They just got done playing in the sprinkler!
Sadie playing with Ruby.

This is what Ruby's skin does in the heat :(

Yes, even though she just got 2 teeth the teething has not calmed down!

Daddy made them a fort to play and watch movies in. They loved it!

Ruby loves the dollie YiaYia sent!

All 3 girls. Steven had to hold on to Ruby because she was using the couch to scratch herself. She did the same thing in her carseat and high chair and managed to bloody herself. She's still a happy baby though!

Who you gonna call?

-Steven and I have been trying to find movies that we liked when we were little so we can share them with the girls. I think it has been a complete success, ongoing of course (there are so many more we are trying to find). So far they have watched Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Wizard of Oz. They seriously loved these movies! Just watch the video, they just finished watching Ghostbusters and the credits are playing with the theme song. Even Ruby enjoyed the music :) The password for these is dance.

- Sadie has decided that any clothing item that can twirl when she twirls is called a "wiggle dress, shorts, shirt, skirt". She loves these, as does Lilly, so much that they only want to wear dresses and skirts. The only problem is the fits they trow when they don not have any clean wiggle clothes. It really is cute and I finally got a video of Sadie demonstrating what a "wiggle dress" really is.

These girls are too funny.

-And Miss Ruby has been miserable. She is teething, so far she has gotten 2 in 2 days, her eczema has flared up really bad, and she is super tired. Her skin is so bad that she is constantly trying to scratch it and she has bloodied herself more than once. Luckily we were able to get her in to the pediatrician this morning and her gave her some more Benadryl-like medicine. The only downside is she wants to sleep all day while taking it (one of the side effects), but her sisters don't like to listen and keep their voices down so it has been hard for her. Hopefully she starts to feel better soon.
- The big girls have had random (this might be TMI) boughts of diarrhea lately. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. They don't seem to have stomach aches, more unsettled stomachs, and it is not like it would be if they were really sick. The pediatrician thinks it is just "toddler diarrhea" and that we need to just watch them. So far they are in pretty good moods but still have the tummy issues. Lately we have been just hanging out inside, the weather is warm and nice but with them not feeling 100% I don't want to risk another heat stroke.

We are hoping soon we will all feel 100% and have our passports back so we can FINALLY plan a trip back home. I haven't been in the states since the day I flew out to England and the girls have never been, so this trip is LONG overdue!

Now off to get the girls to bed. The Wizard of Oz is almost over so bed time is very near! Goodnight all!

Manic Monday!

Just kidding. We are have a relaxing day at home. Sprinkler, bubbles, movies, pizza, popcorn, and crafts! This is the first day we have had to just relax around the house, minus a couple of errands, in months.
Steven had to take Milo down to the vet first thing this morning to be neutered and have his front claws removed. The girls already miss him so tomorrow we will be able to visit him as he will be there for about 3 days.
We also have to go to the pharmacy for Ruby's medicine. The poor thing has had really bad reflux the past few days.
Right now the girls just finished playing in the sprinkler and are getting ready to eat pizza and watch Ghostbusters. They are so excited to just have their daddy home for the day; it's too cute!
And in other news.... RUBY GOT HER FIRST TOOTH! Hopefully I will be able to get a picture :)
Hope everyone else has a great day too!

Haircuts

Today, the big girls and I got haircuts. I have been trying to get a haircut for months now but something has always come up so I was pretty excited. Lilly wants long hair like Princess Dora in one of the movies, so she got a trim. Sadie-Mae, well, she always gets food in her hair and cries so much when we try to brush it or wash it. It is still very thin and it parts to the side so it's always in her face. And she is pretty hot and cold with hair accessories. Sometimes she wears them, sometimes she yanks them out. When Lilly was younger, her hair was the same way so we took her to the salon. They told us if you cut their hair, it will start to grow back faster and thicker. In the meantime, the haircut helped to temporarily solve the problem. Lilly's hair grows really fast now and it's really thick, so we wanted to try it with Sadie. She was willing to get the cut, but I was said that we'd have to part with her curls. Steve and I are hoping that they do come back, but we're doubtful. Lilly is a pro at haircuts and Sadie watched her. They were so cute. Sadie was a little apprehensive, but Daddy helped to calm her fears and sooth her. He's such a great daddy. He even managed to take pictures with watching and caring for all three of them, I was already in the process of getting my hair done. They did great and we all love how our hair came out. Sadie looks like Kit Kitttredge, the American Girl doll, so she's excited.

She really does like her hair, she's just made I made her stop eating the candy to take the picture, ha!

I posted the next photo so you can see how long their hair was. And you can see some of Sadie's curls :(

Anyways...we love the haircuts and hopefully they can behave long enough tomorrow for me to go grocery shopping! That should be fun, 3 kiddos, 2 carts, and 1 parent!

Rant of the Day.....

So we do the whole Disney Movie Rewards thing and they will email me with coupons for new DVD releases. I got an email a few days ago for Alice in Wonderland on Blu-Ray, it was a really great $10 off coupon, making the Blu-ray, DVD, digital copy pack only $22. The girls were DYING for this movie! They could not wait until it came out on DVD. So I print the coupon and head to the BX and they won't accept the coupon. Why? Because I printed it off the internet so it could be a fake!?! Can you even do that? Seriously can you make fake coupons, I am really curious now. They didn't even try to scan it, they just rejected it. I am so confused, I have never even heard of something like this. Do they really have fake coupons on the internet??? Someone please enlighten me!

PS. Lilly put nail polish in her hair tonight, lucky me. I am so grateful I got it out with a comb and it didn't pull chunks of her hair out with it. The big girls and I are getting haircuts tomorrow so I'll try to remember to bring the camera. This will be Sadie's first ever, say a prayer that she doesn't have a mental breakdown threw it, lol!

Jumperoo Fun!

Seriously?!?!?! When did this baby get so big? She has done so many new things her in 5 month we are losing track of it all. She has been rolling from tummy to back, trying to go back to tummy, laughing, talking up a storm, eating solid foods, playing with her toys, and jumping in her jumperoo. Here is a video of her playing in it! The password is jump.
